Reduced Volatile Organic Compounds
Products that are safe and sustainable avoid Volatile Organic Compounds (or VOCs). VOCs are carbon-based compounds that vaporize—become gases and enter the air—under normal conditions. When VOCs enter the environment, they can lead to serious pollution of land, water, and air.
One common VOC is methane, which also contributes to global warming.
They can be especially dangerous indoors, where their effect is much more concentrated. VOCs can be found in many conventional products, such as aerosol sprays, paints, cleaners and some building materials.
